You are like a diamond. There’s many faces of the crystal with which people observe and interact with. You can live as love. You can also cuss like a fucking sailor. These are only two examples of all the ways you choose to express yourself. But these faces are not who you are. The faces of a diamond are not the diamond itself–it’s the underlying crystal matrix that makes the diamond what it is. We are the ones looking at the faces of the diamond. In doing so it is we who are assigning value based on the faces we observe. You assign value based on how you perceive. So without knowing what’s really inside, how could you ever really assign value to something or someone?
