Blunt Force Truth: There’s a difference between being a strong wo/man and just being an asshole. It takes no effort to be an asshole. And it costs exactly nothing. It’s easy.

You don’t get strong by doing what’s easy.

You get strong by doing what’s hard. By doing what takes you out of your comfort zone. By doing things for others that they would probably not do for you. Forgive without needing an apology. Do what’s best for someone even when they’ve done something that hurt you. Especially when they’ve done something to hurt you! Think about the greater good, not your need to stand out. Dedicate your time and devote yourself. These things take effort.

That’s what makes you much stronger than ever before.

So don’t fall back into the social construct of what appears to be “normal” by checking out and putting in zero effort for yourself. The only gains you’ll get by being an asshole are linked to the social stereotype. In other words, you’ll just surround yourself with other assholes.

Instead, be kind in an unkind world.

Be the light in a dark room.

Be the love that lifts the veil created by the illusion of hurt.

Then you always will attract what’s best for you. Yes, always.

Just be compassionate. Then you’ll see that the ones who hurt you were themselves hurting.
