Blunt Force Truth: Some people bring their storm wherever they go.
Some may run from it.
Others will stay and provide shelter.
Do that. Because people will need you to be there for them at times. Everyone goes through rough patches. Maybe they just don’t know yet that it’s temporary. Maybe they’ve carried their pain with them their whole life and don’t know what to do without it. Maybe they’ve made that part of their identity.
And even if they’re not ready for change, you can be there for them. Even when they hurt you, you can see through it, into the eye of their storm, to the stillness within.
Because you are not your storm. You are not the darkness it brings. You are the growth that occurs when the plants receive water. You are the landscape carved out beautifully from the majestic flow. At your very core, you are love.
And all it takes is a little compassion to see that.
That’s how you provide the shelter. Even if you have to enter someone’s storm, you can still be there to help them through it. Do that.
This is why I am the way I am.

This is beautiful advice, and a very healthy way to approach life. Good thoughts.
