Blunt Force Truth: You can’t run humanity as a business.
We tried that already. It was called slavery.
Even after that and with all our modern technology and knowledge, we still try though. Banks lock people in debt to keep the money game going. Corporations treated as people reap the profits for only the top few individuals of society, making it even more difficult for the rest to get by. Or when it’s needed the most, to get treatment.
The system works only through manipulation and control. People think that by giving their hard-earned money to billionaires that it trickles down in the economy, even though it never ever has. But they believe it thanks to misinformation campaigns run by politicians that are paid for by the profiteers.
The misinformation campaigns are designed to control using fear and anger. They control the media to repeat the lies, which then people believe to be true.
The misinformation may even introduce doubt when solid science gives us clear answers. Because the businesses profiting don’t want to change.
Well now things have changed, haven’t they? We can’t burn their fuel as much when we’re sheltered in place, can we?
The economic models are being forced to change in the face of a humanitarian crisis–to weed out the old ideas of putting profit over people.
This is humanity’s wake-up call to learn cooperation over competition. Because that’s how we evolved–through mutually beneficial cooperation.
And that’s how we’ll get through this.
