Blunt Force Truth: The reason some people are hateful is simply because they’re being exposed to something that forces them to confront something within themselves that they’re afraid of.
So it’s easier for them to project outward. It becomes easier to attack others, to judge, and condemn than to just acknowledge that they too have a similar internal struggle going on.
That’s why for some, giving compassion seems like a foreign language. They’d sooner see people starved to death just so they can be proven right.
Simply.
Because.
Fear.
Well as a wise man once said, “fear is just love turned upside-down.”
Fear is an invitation to show even more love and compassion, because that’s what they didn’t get when they dealt with their fears, and that’s why they buried them. They didn’t know they were planting seeds that would grow into toxicity and hatred. They just didn’t know.
Their older generation simply treated them the same as when they grew up, ignoring how the times and situations had changed and how people were [supposed to be] evolving. And they did the same thing to my generation. Now my generation does it to millennials and Gen Z.
Well that stops here. Rather than spewing out more hatred to the younger generations and forcing them to live in the mess we created, let them do what’s best for them. And know that THAT is exactly what you need to transmute your fears.
Don’t punish others because you weren’t strong enough to overcome your own social programming. If you can’t give love and compassion, give some fucking space and get out the damn way!
Because now we’re planting seeds of compassion and love.
