For every action there’s an equal but opposite reaction, right? That’s what alchemy taught us. And the laws of physics.

There’s just one problem…

In a simple cause-and-effect case, it’d be right. At least according to the eye of the observer. But what’s really happening?

For every action, there is an infinite number of possibilities of its outcome.

The observer sees possibilities and narrows down the most likely possibilities to fit the observer’s viewpoint. The same is done with the opposite: it is the sum of all probabilities that didn’t happen. And what did happen is the sum of its possibilities.

So what’s that tell us? That things don’t have to be going toward one particular outcome. There’s infinite possibilities leading to any outcome you desire. That’s why releasing attachment to outcome aligns you with even more possibilities.

So now you get to choose what to perceive. Do you simply see the equal opposite reaction? Or can you envision new possibilities in any given situation?

How’s that for flex?
