I’m sure we’d all prefer to reward ourselves for doing well than to punish ourselves for not, right? It is very liberating to step outside of the frame of reference of punishment. And that’s only the beginning! Next, you’re invited to step out of the duality frame of reference. See beyond the judgment. See into the world, not of right and wrong, but of right here and right now… Because focusing on the reward can actually take you away from the present. You want to do good to get rewarded, but you get caught up in the chase. Always chasing that reward–the cheese in the maze–when you could focus on instant gratification with gratitude. The reward isn’t something you get for doing well. It’s what you feel at the exact moment you step into the now fully and presently. It’s not material or even energetic gain. It’s the mindset you incorporate into every single brand new moment to bring forth the absolute best version of yourself into the now. Focus on the highest intent. Do the absolute best you can, and when you feel gratitude, you give yourself even more resources to feel that right now. Don’t let your desires for reward take you out of the present.
