Stars born in the early universe had to sacrifice themselves in supernovae in order for their next generation to fuse the heavier elements that we are made of. All this so we can tell our children for generations that we are the only life in the universe? Seems like we owe a debt of gratitude to the life that came and went before us… Science can teach us lessons.
